Sri Lanka, Nov. 13 -- The global gold price has surged past USD 4,212 as of today (13), leading to a sharp increase of Rs. 10,000 in local gold prices compared to yesterday.

At the Colombo Sea Street Gold Market, the price of 22-carat gold rose to Rs. 310,800 per pound, while 24-carat gold reached Rs. 336,000 per pound, according to market sources.

Traders attribute the rise to global market fluctuations and increased investor demand amid economic uncertainties.
