Srilanka, March 6 -- The Federation of Health Professionals (FHP) has decided to temporarily suspend the countrywide strike that was scheduled for today in protest against the allowance cuts. This decision followed a discussion with Health Minister Nalinda Jayatissa yesterday (5).

Association Convener Ravi Kumudesh stated that they decided to involve the Finance Ministry and the President in resolving the issue. He added, "Following the meeting, the Minister promised to discuss the matter with the Finance Ministry before March 15 to find a resolution."
