Sri Lanka, Sept. 24 -- The Gazette Extraordinary titled "Expedite the issuance of legal documents to those who have occupied or developed State lands without any document" has been cancelled. The previous gazette notice numbered 2192/36 was published by the Land Commissioner General on September 10. The previous gazette made it possible for individuals who had occupied state lands where they had either constructed houses or used it for agricultural purposes to apply for ownership. This was an islandwide program except for state lands occupied in the Colombo or Gampaha districts.
