Sri Lanka, Jan. 20 -- The Attorney General yesterday informed the Supreme Court that the Government has issued an Extraordinary Gazette notification revoking the earlier Extraordinary Gazette issued by former Wildlife Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi, which had modified the boundaries of the Wedithalathivu Nature Reserve for an aquaculture project.

The Supreme Court was further informed that Extraordinary Gazette No. 2463/47 dated November 21, 2025 was formally issued to revoke the earlier Gazette No. 2383/05 dated May 6, 2024.

Taking these facts into consideration, the petitioners decided to withdraw their petitions.
