Sri Lanka, Feb. 9 -- Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Co-operative Development Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe said that measures will be taken to provide free life insurance cover to the value of about Rs.300,000 to consumers who spend more than Rs.10,000 per month on goods purchased from cooperative stores.

He said this while speaking to the media after the election to select representatives for the Anuradhapura Multi-Service Cooperative.

The Minister also stated that measures will be taken to provide life insurance cover to all cooperative members and employees as well.
