Sri Lanka, Dec. 15 -- Pudukudiyiruppu Police have arrested four individuals, both men and women, for illegally excavating a plot of land in the Devipuram area in search of antiquities.

The suspects were apprehended along with excavation equipment.

The arrested individuals are residents of Anuradhapura, Inamaluwa, Moragoda, Galewela, Madatugama, and Devipuram, aged between 35 and 48.

Authorities have confirmed that further investigations into the incident are ongoing.
