Sri Lanka, Jan. 7 -- Chief Government Whip and Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa informed Parliament yesterday (06) that the President will take necessary action to appoint an Auditor General and has already given the names of four nominees in line with the Constitution, as an Auditor General is essentially required for the country.

The Minister stated that the Constitution states that a qualified auditor must be appointed as the Auditor General. "Names have been proposed for the post and the Constitutional Council must make a decision on it as it is the Constitutional Council that has to approve the appointment of the Auditor General.
