Sri Lanka, Jan. 29 -- Officers of the Special Investigation Unit of the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau have arrested a former UNP local councillor in connection with a foreign employment racketeering scheme involving forged documents.Sri Lanka travel guide

The suspect was arrested on January 26 while allegedly operating the racket from a lodge in Rajagiriya, Obeysekarapura. Investigators say he fraudulently used forged letterheads bearing the name of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, Vijitha Herath, to deceive job seekers.
