Sri Lanka, July 15 -- The Colombo Magistrate's Court has granted bail to former SriLankan Airlines Chairman Nishantha Wickramasinghe, who was arrested and remanded by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) on charges of corruption.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali issued the bail order after reviewing submissions made by CIABOC officials and the defense counsel.

Wickramasinghe was released on a cash bail of Rs. 50,000 and three sureties of Rs. 5 million each. In addition, the court imposed a travel ban preventing him from leaving the country.
