Srilanka, June 27 -- Former SriLankan Airlines Chairman Nishantha Wickramasinghe Arrested Over Aircraft Procurement Probe

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has arrested Nishantha Wickramasinghe, the former Chairman of SriLankan Airlines, in connection with an ongoing investigation into aircraft procurement during his tenure.

CIABOC officials confirmed that the arrest stems from alleged irregularities and potential misconduct in the airline's decision-making processes regarding fleet expansion and aircraft deals under Wickramasinghe's leadership.
