Sri Lanka, Feb. 11 -- Former Secretary to the President, Saman Ekanayake, has been remanded until February 18 after being produced before court today in connection with an ongoing case involving the alleged misuse of public funds.

Ekanayake has been named as the second suspect in the case filed against former President Ranil Wickremesinghe under the Public Property Act, over the alleged misuse of Rs. 16.6 million in state funds during an official visit to the United Kingdom in 2023.

He was previously remanded until February 11 after being produced before court on January 28, as investigations into the matter continue.
