Srilanka, April 8 -- Former President Maithipala Sirisena who arrived yesterday (07) afternoon at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had left in the evening after recording a statement.

The former President arrived at the CID to record a statement in connection with the investigations being conducted against politicians and individuals who misused funds disbursed from the President's Fund during his tenure as the President of Sri Lanka.

Former President Sirisena who was summoned by the CID spent around four hours at the premises to record a statement pertaining to the ongoing probe.
