Srilanka, March 17 -- Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who has been linked to the Batalanda Commission's findings, yesterday denied any wrongdoing, claiming that the inquiry was politically motivated.
He emphasised that his role at the time was limited to ensuring security forces had necessary accommodations during the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) insurrection between 1988 and 1990.
Making a statement yesterday he rejected the Commission's conclusions regarding his alleged involvement in human rights violations.
