Sri Lanka, Jan. 30 -- Mavai Senathirajah, former Member of Parliament and leader of the Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi Political Committee, has passed away.

He died while receiving treatment at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital, where he had been admitted yesterday afternoon after falling ill suddenly at his home in Jaffna.

Senathirajah was 82 years old at the time of his death.
