Sri Lanka, Nov. 7 -- The case filed against four accused including former Magistrate Thilina Gamage for unlawful possession of an elephant calf named 'Sakura' valued at Rs.6.9 million was yesterday fixed for trial by Colombo High Court.

Charge sheet against the defendants was read out in open court and all accused declared that they were not guilty of the charges. Accordingly, the case was fixed for trial on November 14 by Colombo High Court judge Gihan Kulathunga.

At a previous hearing, the four accused were released on previous bail conditions, which were imposed during the magisterial inquiry. In addition to the previous bail conditions, the accused were ordered to be released on a bond of Rs.500,000.
