Sri Lanka, Feb. 13 -- The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has arrested a former Deputy Commissioner of the Motor Traffic Department's (DMT) Car Transfer Division.

The suspect, who currently serves in the Department of Trade and Investment Policy at the Ministry of Finance, was taken into custody yesterday (12).

The arrest follows an investigation into the illegal transfer of a motor vehicle (GZ-6889) in February 2017.

She is accused of approving the transfer without a legal primary residence for the vehicle.

After being produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court, the suspect was released on bail.
