Sri Lanka, Feb. 15 -- The case filed against former North Central Province Chief Minister (CM) S. M. Ranjith Samarakoon and his personal Secretary Shanthi Chandrasena, was on Monday (12) fixed for further trial on March 15 by the Colombo High Court.

The case was filed against them on bribery charges for illegally obtaining a fuel allowance worth over Rs.2 million.

The case was taken up before Colombo HC Judge Adhithya Patabendige.

The Bribery Commission had filed indictment against accused Ranjith Samarakoon and his Personal Secretary under six counts for allegedly taking action to give an undue profit to the Private Secretary while acting as the Chief Minister of the North Central Province between the years 2012 and 2014.
