Sri Lanka, May 19 -- A 21-year-old Thai national was arrested in the early hours of May 19 by officers of the Customs Narcotics Control Division at the arrival terminal of Katunayake Airport. The suspect was found in possession of a consignment of the high-grade cannabis strain "Kush," with an estimated street value of Rs. 79 million.
According to authorities, the individual had purchased the narcotics in Thailand, traveled to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and then boarded Malaysia Airlines flight MH-179, arriving in Sri Lanka at midnight on May 19 in an attempt to evade detection.Sri Lankan tourism
