Sri Lanka, Sept. 16 -- The Mahiyangana Police report that 37 foreign-made smoke bombs were discovered at the top of the Loggal Oya Reservoir, near the Second Milepost of Alikandura in the Mapakadawewa Grama Niladhari Division.
A fisherman who went fishing yesterday (15) evening noticed the suspicious items and alerted the police. Officers confirmed the items as smoke bombs, which are scheduled to be handed over to the Police Special Task Force (STF).
Police suspect the smoke bombs may have been dumped when the reservoir was filled with water, as it has now dried up.
Meanwhile, on the 14th, a 9 mm firearm and a stock of live ammunition were recovered from the Vienna Canal, located about 500 meters away.
