Srilanka, April 2 -- A team of international experts appointed by the World Health Organization (WHO) recently met Health and Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, at the Health Ministry to discuss national policies and strategic plans for cancer control and prevention in the country.
The expert panel, comprising 19 specialists representing 10 leading global institutions dedicated to cancer control, visited Sri Lanka at the request of the Health Ministry.
This marks their second visit to the country for this purpose. During the discussion, the delegation briefed Minister Jayatissa on proposed future plans and recommendations aimed at reducing the spread of cancer and improving prevention measures.
