Sri Lanka, Dec. 10 -- The Department of Irrigation has officially withdrawn flood warnings for 21 river basins across Sri Lanka, stating that water levels have returned to normal.
The withdrawal applies to flood alerts previously issued for the following basins: Maha Oya, Deduru Oya, Mahaweli River and its Badulu Oya sub-basin, Kalu Ganga and its Kuda Ganga sub-basin, Gin Ganga, Kelani River, Nilwala River, Menik Ganga, Kumbukkan Oya, Gal Oya, Heda Oya, Mundeni Aru, Maduru Oya, Yan Oya, Ma Oya, Kala Oya, Malwathu Oya, Mi Oya, and Attanagalu Oya.
The Hydrology and Disaster Management Division confirmed that river levels in these basins have stabilized and no longer pose a flood threat.
