Srilanka, June 24 -- The Officer-in-Charge at Katunayake Airport announced at 5:00 a.m. on June 24 that Qatar Airways and Jazeera Airways have temporarily suspended flight operations due to regional tensions.
As a result, all flights from Katunayake Airport to Doha, Qatar, and Kuwait City, Kuwait, have been suspended until further notice. The disruption follows Qatar's decision to close its airspace after Iranian missile strikes targeted American military bases in the region.
However, the Officer-in-Charge confirmed that flights from other Middle Eastern and European destinations are arriving at Katunayake Airport as scheduled.
