Sri Lanka, Aug. 14 -- Five Chinese nationals were arrested yesterday (13) by officers from the Department of Immigration and Emigration at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).

It has been confirmed that the suspects had arrived in Sri Lanka to commit cyber crimes and they were deported.

These individuals arrived at BIA around 10.30 a.m. on Sri Lankan Airlines flight UL-405 from Bangkok, Thailand. During the immigration clearance process, suspicions arose, prompting the Chief Immigration Officer to question them. When asked about the purpose of their visit, they claimed to have come to work for a company established in Colombo Port City.
