Sri Lanka, Aug. 27 -- Sri Lankan weightlifter Dilanka Isuru Kumara claimed the bronze medal in the men's 60kg weight category in the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship continued in India yesterday.

Dilanka competed in the men's 60kg senior event lifted 111kg in the snatch and 138kg in the clean and jerk. With a total combined lift of 249kg, Dilanka secured the bronze medal. Dilanka the experienced weightlifter of the Sri Lanka team having won bronze in 55kg at the last Commonwealth Games in Birmingham this time clinched a bonze.

Meanwhile Sri Lankan Youth weightlifter Venura Kariyawasam won the silver medal in 65kg class lifting 90kg in the snatch and 135kg in the clean and jerk with a total of 225kg.
