Sri Lanka, Dec. 6 -- Five people were injured and hospitalized following a serious road accident on Bambalapitiya Marine Drive early this morning (06), at around 2:30 a.m.

According to Bambalapitiya Police, the incident occurred when a lorry travelling from Wellawatte toward Kollupitiya veered off course and crashed into two cars parked along the roadside.

After the collision, the lorry continued moving and came to a halt on the railway tracks.

Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
