Srilanka, April 16 -- The Central Provincial Zonal Education Director has announced the temporary closure of 49 schools in Kandy city and surrounding areas due to the annual pilgrimage of the Sacred Tooth Relic.

According to the announcement, these schools will remain closed from April 21 to April 25, 2025, to accommodate the increased crowds and logistical challenges associated with the religious observances.
