Sri Lanka, Sept. 1 -- Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga said yesterday that the government faces its final opportunity to introduce a new Constitution to the country.

Responding to questions raised by journalists at inspection tour to the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport, yesterday, the minister said, "If we forego this opportunity at hand, there will be no future opportunity for us to bring in a new Constitution to lead the country to a new era of prosperity and development."

"We first need to abolish 19 Amendment and then bring in the 20th Amendment. After that, we will introduce a new Constitution that would ensure a strong economy based on a progressive framework, where the benefits will be divided among all citizens," he s...
