Srilanka, May 6 -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the remaining 15 Sri Lankans who had been held in cyber scam camps in Myanmar were released today (May 6).
The release was secured through a coordinated operation involving the Sri Lankan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Sri Lankan Embassy in Thailand, and the Thai government. The group was handed over to Sri Lanka's Ambassador to Thailand, Mrs. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, at Mesoth in the Myawaddy region, located on the Myanmar-Thailand border.
With this operation, all Sri Lankans previously held in these camps have now been safely released, the Ministry confirmed.
