Srilanka, March 27 -- Ingiriya Police reported that nearly 15 people, including school students, were injured and hospitalized following a head-on collision between a private bus and a small lorry near the Ingiriya District Hospital on the Horana-Ratnapura road.

Among the injured were the lorry driver and his assistant. After initial treatment at the Ingiriya District Hospital, several school students and the lorry assistant, who were in serious condition, were transferred to Horana Base Hospital for further medical care.

The accident occurred when the private bus was traveling toward Horana while the lorry was headed toward Ingiriya.

Ingiriya Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
