Srilanka, March 5 -- A collision on the Southern Expressway involving a luxury car carrying Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Nilanga Herath resulted in one fatality and left three others injured, including the ASP, according to the Southern Expressway Traffic Police.

The deceased, identified as 34-year-old A. B. Rizwan from Kalutara, was killed when his car, which had developed a technical fault, was struck by the police vehicle at the 39.3 km mark of the expressway near Dodangoda. The injured include ASP Herath, the police constable driving the vehicle, and a passenger in Rizwan's car.
