Sri Lanka, Sept. 3 -- Since the problems of the farmers are not being answered by the Government today, the farmers have reached a point where they are requesting the Opposition Leader for solutions to their problems, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said.
"Although Ministers promised in Parliament that arrangements have been made to buy all the harvest of the farmers, it is not happening. The lack of timely fertiliser subsidies is also one of the major problems. There is still no solution to the human-elephant conflict," Opposition Leader Premadasa said.
Premadasa was speaking while joining a protest by the farmers in Dehiattakandiya yesterday.
