Srilanka, April 21 -- The expressway network in Sri Lanka generated Rs. 462 million in revenue during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year period, according to R.A.D. Kahatapitiya, Deputy Director General of the Highways Operation, Maintenance, and Management Division.
This revenue was recorded over a 10-day period from April 10 to 19, during which 1.3 million vehicles used the expressways.
Kahatapitiya noted that a significant number of vehicles are expected to use the expressways today as well, as many people return from their hometowns after the holiday celebrations.
