Srilanka, April 16 -- Expressway revenue has exceeded Rs. 173 million over the past four days, driven by a significant increase in travel during the New Year season.
Nearly 500,000 vehicles used the expressways during this period, as many people journeyed to their hometowns for the holidays.
On April 14 alone, 19,637 vehicles were recorded, generating Rs. 39 million in revenue.
Overall, expressway income during this period saw a 20% increase compared to the same period last year, with earnings surpassing Rs. 100 million from vehicle usage alone.
