Sri Lanka, Feb. 9 -- All trade unions in the Excise Department have agreed to the digitalisation and modernisation programme to increase the collection of excise revenue.

The President's Media Division said agreement was reached during a recent discussion at the Presidential Secretariat attended by Excise Department officials, trade union representatives, the Revenue Administration Reform and Modernisation Bureau and Secretary to the President, Dr Nandika Kumanayake.

The main objective of the discussion was to enhance revenue collection by improving efficiency within the Excise Department.
