Sri Lanka, Dec. 11 -- An excise sergeant has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 2 million.

The officer, attached to the Narcotics Division of the Excise Department, reportedly demanded the bribe to avoid taking legal action against a local pharmaceutical factory accused of using illegal machinery to cultivate cannabis.
