Sri Lanka, April 17 -- The Excise Department of Sri Lanka has announced a special operation to curb the spread of illegal alcohol and drugs during the upcoming Sacred Tooth Relic exposition at the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy.
According to a statement issued by Deputy Excise Commissioner and Media Spokesperson A.A. Roshan Perera, the department will work in coordination with the Sri Lanka Police and Tri-Forces to ensure public safety throughout the event, which is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of worshippers.
The Sacred Tooth Relic, enshrined at the Sri Dalada Maligawa, will be on public display for veneration from April 18 to 27, marking a spiritually significant event for the Buddhist community in Sri Lanka.
