Sri Lanka, Jan. 9 -- Five suspects, including former Minister Johnston Fernando and his two sons, who were arrested by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID), were further remanded until January 23 by the Wattala Magistrate's Court.

Former Minister Johnston Fernando and his youngest son, Gerome Kenneth Fernando, were arrested by the FCID on January 5 in connection with the alleged misuse of a Sathosa vehicle during Fernando's tenure as a Cabinet Minister. They were initially remanded until January 9.

Another son, Johan Fernando, had been arrested earlier on December 30 by the FCID in relation to the same offence and was also remanded until January 9.
