Srilanka, March 31 -- Twenty sperm donors have been approved by the newly established sperm bank at the Castle Street Hospital for Women in Colombo, following confirmation that their samples meet the required medical standards.

Hospital Director Dr. Ajith Danthanarayana told the Daily News that results have so far been received for 20 of the 40 individuals who initially registered as donors. All 20 were found to have sperm of acceptable quality and their donations have been formally accepted. Samples from the remaining 20 donors have been sent for further testing, with results expected in the coming weeks.
