Sri Lanka, Dec. 29 -- As an active Easterly wave is expected across the country from today (29), rainy conditions are expected to enhance in several provinces which were severely affected due to recent Cyclone Ditwah, the Meteorology Department predicted.
The Meteorology Department said rains will enhance particularly in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, Uva and Central Provinces in the next few days. Meanwhile, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said it has taken several measures in view of the predicted increase in rainfall from today.
The DMC said that relevant authorities, including the Tri-Forces, Police have been informed to remain alert and be prepared.
