Sri Lanka, Sept. 5 -- A survivor of the tragic bus accident in Ella, which killed 15 people and injured 18 others, has revealed that the driver had warned of a brake failure just minutes before the bus plunged down the slope.

Sharing his experience while receiving treatment at the Badulla Hospital, the survivor said he was speaking with the driver and conductor when the driver made the shocking remark.

"At a bend in Ella, the driver said there were no brakes. I was talking to him and the conductor at the time. The conductor and the people nearby laughed and told him not to lie. But when he took the next bend, we realised there really were no brakes," he said.
