Sri Lanka, April 16 -- The National Election Commission has scheduled a special meeting on April 20 to discuss the prevailing issues with regard to holding the General Election, Commission Media Spokesman Channa P de Silva said.

He told the Daily News that subsequent to this meeting the Commission has also scheduled meetings with the Health authorities, security officials and the Postmaster General.

The meetings will be held at the Election Secretariat premises in Rajagiriya.

The meetings have been convened on the instructions of Commission Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya.

During the meetings, the Commission will to get an update on the COVID-19 control measures, evaluate the current situation in the country and look into the possibility ...
