Sri Lanka, Oct. 7 -- An eight-year-old boy, identified as Master Arlan, who was critically injured in an incident at the Colombo Swimming Club last week, has passed away, hospital sources confirmed today.

Arlan had been receiving treatment at Nawaloka Hospital after he fell into a swimming pool during a private birthday celebration at the club. He was on life support for several days due to severe brain injuries.

His father lodged a police complaint alleging negligence by the club and its staff, claiming that no lifeguard was present at the pool when the incident occurred. The Kollupitiya Police have since launched a full investigation.
