Srilanka, April 1 -- The efficiency and quality of Sri Lanka's healthcare system have led to the eradication of diseases such as polio, measles, rubella and neonatal tetanus from the country. The nation has controlled many other vaccine-preventable diseases, including hepatitis B, Health and Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said.
The Minister made these remarks while attending the National Immunisation Summit held at the BMICH in Colombo recently.
The summit, jointly organised by the Health and Media Ministry and the Epidemiology Unit, was supported by the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). This summit was held after a decade, makin...
