Sri Lanka, Nov. 26 -- Prime Minister and Education, Higher Education and Vocational Training Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya said that the highest amount of Rs.7.04 billion has been allocated for education in the 2026 Budget after many years which is 2.04 percent of the GDP.
She refuted opposition allegations that a 6 percent of the GDP was demanded as budget allocation for the education sector in its first year and emphasised that 2.04 percent of the GDP has been allocated for education this year.
