Sri Lanka, Dec. 3 -- It is not often that sound arguments and words of wisdom are uttered in Parliament by Members. But we saw one such rare instance on Wednesday when the Committee Stage vote on the Ministry of Education was taken up. Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella called for a mechanism whereby MPs would be offered the opportunity to sharpen their education levels.

In other words, he said Parliamentarians should be allowed to gain entrance to Law College or a University to continue higher education.
