Sri Lanka, Feb. 10 -- A discussion on the draft regulations to regulate school student transport services and any new proposals which should be incorporated, took place yesterday between Education and Transport ministry officers.

While reviewing the need to introduce laws and regulations to systematise the transportation of schoolchildren, the discussion looked at the importance of prioritising child protection by preventing reported incidents of abuse and harassment in student transport, and enhancing professionalism among school transport service providers for a responsible and accountable service.
