Sri Lanka, Aug. 16 -- The Central Bank of Sri Lanka expects the country's economy to grow by 4.5 per cent in 2025, exeeeding the World Bank's forecast of 3.5 per cent.
Sri Lanka's economy will grow by 4.5% this year, the Central Bank said in its monetary policy report yesterday (15).Underpinned by a US$ 2.9 billion International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme, Sri Lanka's gross domestic product grew by 5% in 2024, rebounding strongly from a severe financial crisis three years ago.
In its latest monetary report the Central Bank warned that external demand conditions and the evolving global economic landscape introduce uncertainty into the country's near to medium term growth outlook.
