Srilanka, May 27 -- The Election Commission has announced that the names of all elected members from the Local Government Elections must be submitted to the respective Returning Officers no later than midnight on May 30.

This directive has been formalized through an Extraordinary Gazette notification issued by the Commission.

According to the Commission, the official term of the newly elected Local Government bodies is set to begin on June 2.
