Sri Lanka, Nov. 20 -- Sri Lanka has introduced a significant revision to the fees charged for issuing and renewing driving licences for both citizens and foreign nationals, under new regulations issued through Extraordinary Gazette No. 2463/04 dated 17 November 2025.Sri Lanka Travel Guide
According to the Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development, the fee for issuing a new Sri Lankan driving licence to a citizen holding a foreign licence has increased from Rs. 3,300 to Rs. 30,000. For foreign nationals in the same category, the fee has been raised from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 60,000.
