Sri Lanka, Jan. 19 -- A bus driver was killed and five others were injured when it overturned near the double bridge in Haldummulla on the Badulla - Colombo main road yesterday morning (18), Haldummulla Police said.

A private bus that was coming from Colombo to Welimada was overturned.

The driver who died in the accident is a resident of Atampitiya, the Police said.

A woman and a child, who were injured in the accident, were taken to the Haldummulla District Hospital in a 1990 ambulance and later transferred to the Diyatalawa Hospital for further treatment, a spokesperson for the Haldummulla Hospital said.
